Lent is a season of fasting and alms giving. It is a time to prepare ourselves for the season of Easter.
We have been learning about Caritas and the good works they do during this season of Lent. The children have enjoyed finding out about how the people of South Sudan live compared to them. They have found the photos from the resource pack fascinating because these show a different way of living compared to what they are used to here in New Zealand.
The children are encouraged to bring a coin each day to school for the days of Lent. What we collect will go towards Caritas, to help them continue their work of supporting others during and beyond this season of Lent.
